What a Blessing!

As tradition at our church, yesterday was youth Sunday. The children entertained those in attendance with joyful songs. Each child has the opportunity to sing a solo. I am so very proud of Lyndsey and Lorrie for the awesome job they did. Lyndsey sang "Hark, The Herald Angels Sing" and Lorrie sang "Silent Night." And they did a wonderful job. Ms. Lilie was supposed to sing a solo, too. At barely 3 years old (12/5 was her bday) I didn't expect her to know any song completely perfectly. But this was toooo cute!

To start with, Lilie refused to join the rest of the youth at the front of the church. This was fine...she is still little and that many people could send an adult into serious stage fright. She joined them for one verse of Silent Night where she sang "Shylent Night, Holy, Holy Night" over and over. It was adorable!

After the whole thing was over and the wonderful service was dismissed, she wanted to know when her turn was. I felt bad for her...I didn't attempt to talk her into trying her song when it was time. She said no and I left it at that. But then she REALLY wanted to sing and everyone was leaving. :(

That didn't stop her. I was a little behind Jason, Lyndsey and Lilie because Lorrie is just a little less motivated than the rest of the population and a 2 second task of putting on a coat takes around ten or fifteen minutes. We have gotten so used to this delay that we figure it into our schedules now. LOL But back to the point...when I approach outside I can hear Lilie singing for the departing crowd. At the tops of her lungs she is singing....
"Jesus loves me, this I know. Lorrie Lorrie to the Lord that Jesus Christ is king. Shylent Night, the Angels sing..I love you, you love me, we're a happy family.... cause the Bible tells me so." TOOO CUTE!

  2. Joni, its a terrific feeling to see kids so involved in church. After watching my own children & their love of God & Jesus, I completely understand the true meaning of 'child-like faith!'
