Thanksgiving Holidays: To Write or Not to Write...That is The Question!

Freelance writer everywhere will tell you the drawbacks of missing out on a few days of work. Well established, passive income writers do have the luxury of taking off a few days and the dollars keep rolling in. Active income freelance writers can tell you that skipping two days of their normal writing work week can cause some serious damage to their monthly income. So do you find the time to continue writing during the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday? Or do you take the days off, spend time with your family and write it off as time well spent?

I chose an alternative. The outcome will be the same amount of income while doing what is important on Thanksgiving-spending time with my family. Family is number one in importance but as I have said before supporting my family is part of that importance.

So here is my game plan for the week. I may be one tired mommie but my much needed income won’t suffer and I will have two back to back glorious, family and food filled days to relax and enjoy what matters (except for the Black Friday Shopping my mother insists I partake in…who am I kidding? I love this fun family tradition).

I will add an extra hour and a half of active writing to my daily workload Monday thru Wednesday. I have been spending today completing my weekly articles for my private clients. I am a planner as far as my freelance writing goes (as for the rest of life, disorganization is a nice term).  If I didn’t plan out what, when and how I would write, I wouldn’t get anything accomplished. With that being said, I planned out my blog posts for the two days I wouldn’t be online. Because my blog is new and there is so much I have learned that I want to share, it is important that I post information every day. I also planned out my passive income articles for those days and will spend an extra hour Monday-Wednesday completing those.

Therefore, I get my normal weeks worth of writing accomplished in three days. The kids are out of school and the hubby will be home to entertain them. This way I can spend my Thanksgiving holidays enjoying my family and friends without worrying about missing out on income opportunities.
