Did You Really Request a Rewrite For That????

Rewrites. Freelance writers get them at times...most of us dislike them. I know sometimes I don't even mess with trying to complete a rewrite request. Why? Because we put time and effort into our writings only to be told "change this" "alter that" "this is wrong." But I got the rewrite of all rewrites today..at least in my history of rewrites. Without going into specifications on the when and where and who, here is a  run down of how it played out.

Article: Quick article on how to dye hair brown with a specific brand

Rewrite Requests: "You said their were 32 different dye colors but I couldn't verify that info in sources"

"You say a 3 on the hair dye box mean its permanent but sources don't validate this."

"Why are you discussing only colors, referred to as brunettes in your article?'

My response: "There are  32 available colors. I manually counted them. Feel free to recount.

"At the top of my first resource is this sentence, "_____ applies a numerical coding system to  the various types of hair dyes which determines the length of time the dye shall remain on the hair. For example, a "3" on the color's packaging indicates a permanent hair color."

"I discussed 'brunette" colors in my introduction because the article topic referred to dying hair brown. Brunette is a sophisticated way of labeling hair brown."

Except for my attached comments, I did not alter this article in the slightest. I ran it through spelling, plagiarism, grammar and punctuation checkers and sent it back. I just could not pass up this opportunity to show sometimes writers are correct when they say the rewrite was unnecessary.
