First and foremost, I love Everyday Christian! This site is packed with information about all types of subjects and all of them center around Christianity, of course. I have been visiting this site for awhile now just to read the articles and learn. Being a Christian is a huge part of every aspect of my life. Recently, I was browsing the site and came across a link for freelance writers. Even with my packed writing schedule, I felt the usual "gotta go for this" jolt when something that really interests me opens a door for more opportunities. Even if you don't want to write for the site, you should check it out...it is a wonderful, christian source of information!
Everyday Christian accepts two types of writers. I must warn everyone that the application process is not automatic and because the site thoroughly reviews all applicants, it claims it can take awhile to get an acceptance. It also says all applications will be thoroughly reviewed but may not receive a response unless accepted. I just applied today so I'll update if I get a response. And I haven't forgotten the Demand Media Studios post (still loving the site) I promised; I have just been slammed with work as I prepare for my Christmas break. It's coming soon!
You can become a guest writer by submitting your ideas or articles via the email link on the site. Or you can send an email to apply to become a contributing writer on a regular basis. In your freelance writers application email, include writing experience, article sample and if applicable, links to any of your online work.
I am very excited about the new opportunity and have my fingers crossed that I am given the chance to write for Everyday Christian. Keeping my fingers crossed!
